Using serious games to assist diagnosis in the medical and psychological fields is an emerging and innovative approach.
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), a common neurodevelopmental disorder, lacks fully defined diagnostic
methods due to challenges in identifying its specific causative factors. This study introduces a serious game called
“MindEscape ADHD”, a 3D escape room-type game designed to trigger specific behaviors through tailor-made puzzles
and events. The game also provides a theoretical and innovative assisting diagnostic tool for ADHD for adults that
eliminates the need for specialized equipment other than a computer. Instead, it will leverage machine learning (ML)
techniques, utilizing data collected from gameplay sessions of the serious game designed explicitly for this purpose. The
advantages of this approach include reduced subjectivity in decision-making, cost-effectiveness, and enhanced
accessibility compared to conventional procedures.
