Awards

Our paper with title “A Multi Attack Argumentation Framework“, by Alexandros Vassiliades, Giorgos Flouris, Theodore Patkos, Antonis Bikakis, Nick Bassiliades and Dimitris Plexousakis, that was presented at the Fourth International Conference on Logic and Argumentation (CLAR 2021) on 21/10/2021, has won the CLAR 2021 Best Paper Award!

Our paper “A multi-instance multi-label weakly supervised approach for dealing with emerging MeSH descriptors“, by Nikolaos Mylonas, Stamatis Karlos, and Grigorios Tsoumakas, won the Marco Ramoni best paper award at the 19th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (AIME 2021).

Two faculty member of our Lab, Prof. I. Vlahavas and Assistant Prof. G. Tsoumakas, were included among the top 49 scientists for Computer Science in Greece according to the list published by Guide2Research.

Our paper entitled “Algorithms for Electric Vehicle Scheduling in Large-Scale Mobility-on-Demand Schemes” was distinguished from the Elsevier publishing company, as it was featured as an exceptional work through a news article that was published at the journal’s website with aim to promote research with positive environmental-social impact.

Our paper entitled “Ontology-based Sentiment Analysis of Twitter Posts” was among the most cited articles of the journal Expert Systems with Applications. The same paper was among the most downloaded articles of the same journal.

Dr. Tsoumakas became a senior member of the ACM

Our paper entitled “Random k-Labelsets: An Ensemble Method for Multilabel Classification” received the ECML PKDD 2017 test of time award.

Professor I. Vlahavas became a Fellow of the European Association for Artificial Intelligence.

The paper “Label Construction for Multi-Label Feature Selection” by Newton Spolaor, Maria Carolina Monard, Grigorios Tsoumakas and Huei Lee which was a collaborative work between the Laboratory of Computational Intelligence of the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of São Paulo and our group received the best paper award at the 2014 Brazilian Conference on Intelligent Systems (BRACIS 2014).
