Short CV

My name is Ivan Gocev. I was born in Skopje, North Macedonia on the 30th of October 1993. I obtained both my Bachelor (2012 – 2016) and Masters (2016 – 2017) at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies in my hometown in the area of Automation and Robotics, putting a key accent on intelligent control in mobile robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI). I started my research career at the same Faculty at the Institute of Automation and System Engineering as a junior researcher and teaching assistant. From 2018 to 2021 I worked at Siemens AG in Munich, Germany, as a part of the Semantic Modeling and Reasoning research group, where I continued to learn and research the area of Explainable AI in the scope of Knowledge-based Systems and got the opportunity to apply some of my research in various projects, such as AI4EU for example. Currently, I am a PhD candidate at the School of Informatics, AUTh, under the supervision of Prof. Nick Bassiliades in the area Explanations of Decision-Making Processes in AI Systems based on Semantic Web Technologies.
