Short CV

Hello! My name is Zoe Vasileiou and I was born in Larissa Greece. I have attended the school of Computer and Computer Engineering of the University of Thessaly from which I graduated in 2013. I also received a Master from the same department with the title “Science and Technology of Computer Engineering, Telecommunications and Networks”. During my studies, I primarily focused on software engineering, distributed systems, and programming high performance systems. Next, I worked for 5 years as a Software Engineer in Scientific Games Corporation which provides gambling products across the globe. Now, I am a PhD student in the School of Informatics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and I am working on Explainable Artificial Intelligence for multimodal fusion and decision-support in crisis management. At the same time, I am working at CERTH research center in Greece where I mainly have engaged in research projects related with Semantic Web technologies. My research interests include Explainable AI, Knowledge Representation, and Ontology Engineering. Generally, I am a curious lifelong learner and one motivational motto that I embrace is “Limits exist only in the mind”.
